Coach Payne encouraged his players and mentees to strive to reach their full academic and athletic potentials. Proceeds from the Robert A. Payne 3-on-3 will fund a scholarship for a rising freshman at an institution of higher learning (community college or four year institution). The scholarship recipient will be a student athlete who displays high ideals of moral conduct, intellectual acumen and athletic prowess on and off the playing field. One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded each August at the Robert A. Payne Memorial 3-on-3 Tournament.

Applications will be accepted and reviewed between September 1 and January 1 of each year. The application packet must include: the student-athlete’s letter of interest, one letter of  recommendation from a current teacher and one letter of recommendation from a coach. Proof of college enrollment must be provided prior to receiving the scholarship funds.
